Baiyun Mountain is located in the hinterland of Ox Mountain in the south of Song County, Luoyang, Henan Province.
The park was authorized for the national level forest park on September 1992. In December 1997 it was promoted for the national level nature protection area.
Since 2005 the park has been evaluated the national AAAA level traveling scenic area "the most beautiful place in Chinese" by Academia Sinica national geographic and the national 31 media, 3 big websites jointly on October.
The whole area in the scenic spot is 168 Square kilometer. stretching over three major basins of the Changjiang Rinver, the Yellow River, the Huaihe River , located in temperate zone and subtropical transition area ,It is the national-level nature reserve. Its average elevation is 1800 meters. There are 204 kinds of animals in all,and 1991 kinds of plants. The forest coverage rate is up to 98.5%. The highest temperature does not exceed 26 degrees Centigrade in summer.The forest and valleys are deep and remote in the scenic spot. The grotesque peak is pretty , and the white floating clouds are beautiful .There are many beautiful places such as the first peak of Henna Province, Jijiao Peak , Fairy Bridge , Yuhuang Peak , as representatives of grotesque peak views; With alpine cuckoo forest, ten thousand mu virgin forest, the Tang Dynasty ginkgo forest as representatives of forest views; Waterfall pool view represented by the waterfalls, the Pool of Pearls, the Yellow Dragon Well; Take Chinese Zhang Liang liu hou Ci, the Jade Emperor Chinese style pavilion, Wu Mansi the tower as representative's humanities landscape.The Sunrising from a sea of Clouds,the season views represented by Maple Leaves in Golden Autumn.The White Cloud Peak, The Yuhuang Peak ,The Little Mount Huang, The Nine-dragon Waterfall,and The Virgin Forest, etc,have been developed. All of the five travel sight-seeing areas have their characteristics.The former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC Hu Yaobang, member of the standing committee of Political Bureau of the Central Committee Li Changchun ,former communication minister of country Huang Zhendong, former president of Xinhua News Agency Mu Qing, Govemor of Henan Province Li Chengyu inspected Baiyun Mountain successively. "Famous Mountain of Zhongyuan" was written by Li Changchun when he inspected here. Mu Qing epigraphed "White cloud ,the best of the world". " Baiyun Mountain-Fairyland on the earth." Famous calligraphist Qi Gong wrote.
